Why We Don't Take Insurance

(And Why That's a Good Thing for Your Family)
We get asked this all the time. And honestly, we're glad people ask because it gives us the chance to actually explain ourselves. So here it is, straight up.

Is insurance bad? No. Is it right for family wellness chiropractic? Also no.
Insurance is great for what it was built for. A broken bone, a surgery, a major illness. Those catastrophic moments are exactly why insurance exists and we're grateful for that.
But family wellness chiropractic is a completely different situation. It's not a one-time fix. It's consistent, ongoing care that supports your nervous system over time. And that's where insurance and what we do just don't line up.
What actually happens when a chiropractor is in-network?
Most people don't know this, but when a chiropractor takes insurance, the insurance company is essentially running the show. They decide how many visits you get. They decide what's covered and what isn't. They make the rules.
And here's the part that really gets us: none of those plans were written by chiropractors. None of them were written by someone who understands how long it actually takes to regulate a nervous system and create lasting change.
A company that has never met your kid, never assessed their spine, and has no chiropractic training is deciding what your family's care looks like. We're not okay with that.
Is 12 visits a year really not enough?
One adjustment a month is not enough to regulate a nervous system in the environment we're all living in right now. We say that with love and with full honesty.
Look at what we're dealing with every single day. Technology, stress, processed food, the pace of everything around us. It's like our world is specifically designed to throw our nervous systems off.
Popping in once a month might take the edge off for a little while. But actually shifting the input into your nervous system and your brain? That requires real consistency, not 12 scattered visits over the course of a year.
Was it always like this?
Not exactly. Back in the 70s and 80s, insurance was actually profitable for chiropractors. People held their adjustments better back then and the model worked a little differently.
But that's not where we are today. Our bodies are under more stress than they've ever been. People need more consistent support to make and keep progress. The insurance model just hasn't kept up with what families actually need and we're not going to pretend it has.
So who are we actually working for?
You.
That's the whole answer.
We work for you, not your insurance company. Our job is to look at your whole family, understand what's actually going on, and build a care plan that genuinely serves you. Not one that fits into a billing code so someone in an office building can approve it.
Our goal isn't just to get you out of pain, though that's a great side effect. It's to change what's going into your nervous system so you function better, feel more present, and show up for your family the way you actually want to.
You deserve a doctor who is fully on your team. That's what we're here for.
